At BPGC Head Professional, Mark Slater and his Assistant Luke Butler offer a comprehensive range of coaching, sharing their experience and passion for the game to help you improve and have more fun playing golf. Catering for players of all ages and abilities in a friendly, welcoming environment.
Meet the Professionals
Mark Slater
Mark is our Head Professional, he has been a class AA/T fully qualified member of the PGA since 1995. He was Captain of the PGA in Worcestershire 2014 & 2015. Mark brings with him many years of coaching experience and has worked as a County Academy coach. He can be seen on the course playing with members and competes in local Pro-Ams and on the PGA Midland Region circuit.
Luke Butler
Born and raised in Worcester Luke has been a member at both Ombersley and Droitwich Golf Club. He has worked within the golfing industry since completing his golfing scholarship and undergraduate degree in Business at Lincoln Memorial University, Harrogate, Tennessee, USA and has had the pleasure of playing at a highly competitive level. Luke has completed his University Studies for Professional Golf along with his PGA level 3 coaching and is currently awaiting election as a PGA Professional. Luke competes in Worcestershire and Midland Region events throughout the season.
Coaching
Mark Slater is our Head PGA Professional and he offers a comprehensive range of coaching using his experience and passion for the game to help you improve and have more fun playing golf. He caters for players of all ages and abilities in a friendly, welcoming environment.
For juniors aged 5+ we run an introductory fun session every Saturday 10:00 –11.00, forming our “Birdies” group at the club. All equipment is provided, and the first session is FREE! Once the juniors have developed and aged, they get introduced to our “Eagles” group that takes place between 9:00 – 10:00 on Saturdays and continues their golfing journey and development with a view to making them active members of our golfing community.
Adult beginners wishing to have a go can enrol on the GetintoGolf group sessions exclusive to new players only, however, if they prefer individual coaching at a time to suit them they can book individually with Mark.
Luke Butler is our Assistant Professional, Luke is a Level 2 PGA Coach and he holds member group sessions throughout the year focusing on different areas of the game which allows our members to learn and improve in a group environment.
